Application Note: Measurement of AOF / EOF / Sum of PFC with Combustion-IC

We have produced a new application note focused around the measurement of AOF / EOF / sum of PFC utilising the AQF-2100H combustion system from a1-envirosciences GmbH.

AOF / EOF / Sum of PFC

Quantifying the sum of organic fluorine compounds (PFC) is important for the assessment of contamination in water and soil especially Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The widespread use of PFAS and their ability to stay intact in the environment means that over time PFAS levels from past and current uses can result in growing levels of environmental contamination.

AQF-2100H

The AQF-2100H is a combustion system for solids, liquids and gases that is coupled with an ion chromatography system.

Conclusion

  • AOF/EOF measurement with average measurement time of 8 min per sample (excl. Sample preparation).
  • Blank value of process typically in the range of 0.5ug/l or less.
  • Limit of quantification in routine < 1µg/l.
